Photographer Philip Provily was born in Nijmegen in 1968. He started his career as assistant to renowned photographer Rineke Dijkstra. Today, he lives and works in Burgundy, France.
Philip is known for his portraits, staged photography with a sense of humour and poetic lightscapes.
Provily's work is frequently shown in galleries and museums. For instance, his photographs hung in the Groninger Museum and at Galleria Pino Casagrande in Rome. The Institut Néerlandais in Paris also showed his photography.
Philip's work is included in the collection of Maison Européenne de la Photographie (Paris) and was selected for the catalogue Le regardeur of the Neuflize Vie Collection and the GEM Museum (The Hague).
His work has been published in NRC Handelsblad, Le Monde and Het Financieele Dagblad, among others. UNESCO and the Dutch Embassy in Paris are among Philips' clients.
